Shelburne Village Center
Shelburne, VT

In March 2000, the Shelburne Select board commissioned Northern Architects
to develop a design that would rehabilitate the old Shelburne Village School (1927) into a town office building. The 37,000 square foot building on three levels needed all new services, new windows, roofing, and restoration of the brick exterior. The new design houses the Shelburne Town Offices, Police Department, Recreation Department (including a renovated gym and stage)
and office for the Chittenden South Supervisory Union. A new entrance addition with an open stair, elevator, and two story glass wall organizes the access to
all departments. The site was redesigned for traffic and pedestrian access, 150 parking spaces, and landscaped green spaces for outdoor use.

Design and Construction Documents were completed by December 2000 and construction was completed on budget in October 2001.
