Morristown Centennial Library
Morristown, VT
Northern Architects developed the schematic design for enlarging and renovating this 3,200 square foot, Carnegie-era Library, recognizing the importance of maintaining the integrity of the historic structure. The proposed 3,400 square foot addition will provide a new entrance with handicapped access, additional reading rooms and collection space, a new community conference/multipurpose space, and restrooms.
The new, space-efficient design will allow an existing great room with a fire place to be used as the adult reading room; the existing basement space will become the Children’s Library. The completed library will house 25,000 volumes, allowing for expansion of the Library’s collection for the next ten years. The library is currently in a fund raising campaign, for which Northern Architects prepared drawings and produced the model picture here.
