Haston Library
Franklin, VT

Built in 1908, the historic Haston Library was jointly occupied by the Library and the Franklin Town Offices. The layout and utilization of the building did not meet the needs of either organization and the building was not accessible to persons with disabilities. Northern Architects developed the architectural program, the building design, the construction cost estimates the construction documents for a complete renovation. The new design provided the two organizations with separate space appropriate for their needs and handicap accessibility throughout the building. A variety of building code violations were corrected and the mechanical, energy and structural systems were upgraded.
