The Fireside Cafe is the heart of activity at the Campus Center but it lacked the warm, comfortable feel of a student gathering space. Castleton State College asked Northern Architects to redesign the space to appeal to students and improve the quality of space for live performances. Oak paneling was used to enliven the appearance of the 112 seat cafe and the food service area was completely redesigned to provide an open self-serve area, deli counter, custom food service area, new lighting and custom designed casework and counters. Custom designed interior windows allow a visual connection to the cafe but help to keep the noise out.
